Join us in prayer

Each week in our services we lift up the prayers of the people. Join us in praying for those who need to be lifted.

What is prayer?

Prayer is the spiritual communication between us and God, a two-way relationship in which we not only talk to God, but also listen to Him. Prayer to God is like a child’s conversation with a parent. It is natural for a child to ask his father for the things he needs.

Throughout scripture, there are many promises in which God encourages us to pray. In Psalm 91:15 we read:

“He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

And in Isaiah 65:24:
“Before they call, I will answer, while they are speaking I will hear.”

How do I talk to God?

Simply put, you just do!

Prayer is possible because Jesus Christ has removed the barrier between us and God – a barrier caused by sin. Sin separates us from God, and because of that we have no right to come before Him. But by his death on the cross, Christ paid the penalty for our sins and removed that barrier.

Scripture says in Hebrews 4:16:

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

God welcomes us into His presence! Not only that, he promises to hear you!
